Somehow the clock in our room was an hour early... so we were up by 3am instead of 4am and showered before we realized. I finished up a little work and we left with what we thought was plenty of time. The AirAsia (local cheap airline) section was a mess! We waited in line for a while without moving at all. Finally, when we told them our flight was in less than an hour we moved to a shorter line, that didn’t actually move much faster. But all in all, we made it to the gate, on the bus, and out to the plane without any additional problems. The flight was quick and easily, and we followed the crowds to get our bus and ferry ticket to Koh Samui. An hour bus and two hour ferry later we arrived on Koh Samui and catch a taxi to the hotel.
We stayed at the Impiana, which was breathtaking. It was on Chaweng Noi Beach (the calm, quieter portion of Chaweng Beach) and had an infinity pool, and a bar on the beach with three happy hours and fantastic 100B beef Satay. We relaxed that day and tried to figure out our plan for the next few days. We only had one night booked and we extended it to cover until after the Full Moon Party on the 28th. We went to a buffet of Thai cuisine that night and watched people sending off “lucky balloons” (large paper lanterns) and fireworks.
