Laura came back as the kids were waking up and swapped with Richard for a couple hours until my first meetings. After Jocelyn and Tara left last night, John quickly made friends with some new kids at the campsite and spend the morning riding bikes and playing ninja tag. We did a little schoolwork, and Elizabeth and Laura sat outside and said hi to everyone that passed.
After lunch, while Elizabeth napped John and Laura went to get souvenirs, included a crushed penny, at the welcome center. John also made friends with two retired teachers from Houston and crushed pennies for them too.
In the afternoon, we stopped in town for some ice cream (or just a waffle cone in John’s case!) and a little drive around Murfreesboro before it was back to camp to prepare to move to a next “destiny” tomorrow.
