Since we stayed close to camp yesterday, we thought we should explore the Great Smoky Mountains a little today (and do our passport books!) First, we stopped in the Gaitlingburg Visitor Center to get the Junior Ranger program and our first stamps. Then it was into the park… I had read that it was the most visited national park, and we definitely saw that! John and I waited in line almost 15 minutes just to go into the visitor center!
After we headed to Newfound Gap - where Tennessee and North Carolina meet and a part of the Appalachian Trails is.
So of course we had to hike part of the Appalachian Trail! John kept asking everyone we met if they did the whole trail!
The views were lovely; John climbed a stone wall of course, and Elizabeth waved and said hi to every single person we passed!
I can’t wait to explore the park more!!!
